Becoming: Emergence

Becoming: Emergence is about a moment of transformation; something taking shape, but not fully formed yet. The layers and thick textures almost feel like the figure is pushing through the surface.

I worked with strong colours and contrasts to create a sense of energy and tension. It’s part of the mini-series Becoming, which is also part of a larger series In the Name of Body, where I try to capture what it feels like to be in-between states; not settled, but not lost either. There’s movement in it, but also weight.
